Born 11th June 1959 in Oxford, the youngest of four children
Education: Attended Eton and Selwyn College Cambridge, where he rowed in the 1980 Boat Race and was a member of Footlights (President 1981)
Whilst at Cambridge he met Stephen Fry and the rest is, as nearly everyone says, history.
